They've got to be easy to get to, so I've only been to a few, Arbor Low, Balnuaran of Clava, Swinsde, Branas uchaf, Castlerigg and Templewood. Branas Uchaf with Thesweatcheat, Castlerigg was during a Leonid meteor shower a long time ago, and Templewood on a clear Halloween night, also a long time ago now.
It is a bit more lunatic than the usual daylight visit, but if you like stones enough you'll want to see them in all varying lights and conditions.
I've done it before and I'll do it again.
