Yourquestion here http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/3110/wibdon_broadstone.html#folklore "Do you know where it was supposed to have landed?"...

Could this be it? https://www.pitchup.com/campsites/England/Central/Gloucestershire/Coleford/broadstone-park/

(I haven't been)

Sorry it's taken 7 years to reply!

That looks nice, one of those big proper slabs of rocks that must have always loomed large in the minds of people living thereabouts. It certainly must have had some folklorey position, it stands to reason. The sort of thing that would inspire a cromlech builder don't you think.

Oh I need to go camping. I've been locked up all weekend with a germ, and I am SO BORED

I do hope you are well yourself

I'm at the lucky age!

I might go down and look at that slab, it's within reach.

Don't know if you made it but it was pretty grotty in that part of the world today. I sent my greetings to the Wibdon stone twice as usual today, from the train window.

Dreadful, wasn't it? (I'll get down there eventually).

Yep it was, I chose to spend the day battling through dense Welsh forestry and traipsing across sodden hillsides above Mountain Ash. It may not have been anyone else's idea of a fun bank holiday.
