Its good to see this question raised because when I first tried to post photos here some years ago wasn't able to because of the sizing issue. I haven't posted any photos of note since visit my to Donegal last year and understand the website has now been upgraded to auto-resize. I always do resize myself though using the edit function on Windows 8.1/pictures - changing the horizontal pixel size to 1000. Seems to work ok.
The quality of my photos is another matter ... am still using a digital compact. I know people with fabulous DSLR cameras which they use for photographing moths, butterflies and birds. Personally, wouldn't really want to carry one around.
