" Alton Road (Croydon). A long flat-bottomed, V-shaped trench, c8-16 ft deep, led down to the stream now in the municipal park. Off this were a number of underground houses wit doors and rough-worked lintels cut in the chalk. Excavation in 1902 produced a scatter of Neolithic material, but a larger amount of Iron Age and particularly Belgic pottery. Occupation continued to the C3-4AD. This odd group of structures recalls the native fogus of the South-West"

Anecdotal evidence on line but nothing about the excavation. Are there any updates or has anyone visited?
