Why posting fake coordinates?
Apr 03, 2017, 08:29
I'm referring to this site because I know it, and I have the rights coordinates that leads to a place 3,8 Km. distant, but also the other coordinates that I've verified are wrong (Pietra Scritta and Dolmen della Biscia). Why there send people to get lost in the woods? To me it's way better do not post any coordinates than posting wrong coordinates.
It's this a problem of the entire site or only regarding the area of Mount Beigua?

P.s.: Excuse me for my english, but I've never studied it.

Your english is perfectly understandable SoS .

Thanks for the more accurate co-ordinates .
It would be good to get the same for Pietra Scritta and Dolmen della Biscia .

Not all co-ordinates /grid refs are accurate . Pre gps and GE data are often wrong , including those on "professional " sites like Canmore , Coflein , Pastscape and their European counterparts , and maybe should be taken as a rough guide .

Hi SoS

I hadn't yet signed up to TMA when Tommy Leggy (top avatar, that) made these Italian posts... but I recall thinking "Wow, but he's from Yorkshire... why aren't Italians doing this?"

But the point is Cope's vision - as I understand it - is basically inclusive of anyone who gives a damn about who we are as a species - worldwide. If you have better, local knowledge of Italian sites please share it. Better still, build upon Tommy's fieldwork and help visitors get to experience Italy's prehistoric treasures.

Yes i know that old coordinates can be wrong, i've searched a lot of caves and i know that very well. But 3,8 Km. it's simply too much.... There's also a map on the page of the "Grande Roccia", who posted the coordinates didn't notice that was wastly wrong? I say this not to criticize who anyway spent some time to upload pictures and other useful informations to the benefit of all, but only to try to understand.

Here in Italy it's very difficult to find information about the engravings, may be to protect them from vandalism acts.
Nonetheless I've got to find some of these encrypted stones and others I hope to find soon. I've already posted the right coordinates for the "Grande Roccia" and soon I think that I will post these of "Roccia del Dolmen" or "Dolmen della Biscia" as is named on this site, because i've already found some engraved stones near to it and i think it's question of few days to find also the others. More difficult seems to find the "Pietra Scritta", altough i've found very much informations about, that leads all to a precise site (the spring of the rio Traversa), in this site there's nothing...
