Certain types of monuments , have noticeable associations with water Henges -hengiforms , the flooding of ditches have been suggested as being part of the architecture , emphasised by the location in damp to boggy ground ,in the period of build . Portal tombs are often associated with small streams (Kytmanow , no phenomenologist ) . Cursus have been noted by Brophy ( as noted here recently , no phenomenologist ) as being aligned on bigger water courses , situated close to streams , rivers and less commonly the flooded ditches .
