...............and if you need to rehydrate after your exertions may I recommend The Harewood, few yards down the hill from Broadbottom Station. It's a microbrewery, several hand pulled ales & ciders, and the only food on offer is pie, peas n gravy.
The Coombe isn't that far, but it's a long uphill grind up the old 'Monks Road'. Apparently a monastery in North Wales were granted the market charter for Glossop by one of the King Henry's and that's the route they took on their commute between the two..........
