How about this. It took me two years to discover that 'carving' yet the EH inspector that visited with me picked it out immediately but called it a polar bear. Fair do's!
It's just a chance thing I suspect partly formed when the top of the stone probably fractured when the capstone slipped over it. You can see a further fracture to the RH side beneath it.
So you believe the cap stone was raised at some point ! ;)
No, the lid slipped to the south side at the top end which is obvious when you look at the front.
Surely if it slipped enough to damage stone 5 it'd have slipped totally off ?
I explain that in the book Geoff. A sequence of events took place leading up to it and a sequence afterwards that stopped it.
