It's a bit sad that Mick Aston is quoted as saying he's not proud of TT.

I know there are plenty of shortcomings, but for years it was the only (non-Egypt-centric) archaeology show on TV and it brought an awareness of chunks of our past that are often overlooked to a wider audience (i.e. it's not just the Romans then Kings and Queens).
