Living in the past

Does anyone remember a TV show that was on BBC1 back in the 1970s where a group of people spent a year living in an Iron Age settlement? I remember watching it when it was on and a year or so ago I found the book of the series in a second hand shop - and a good read it is.

I seem to recall that a couple of people got kicked off the 'experiment' as they were spotted in a chip shop! There is no mention of this in the book.

Can anyone else remember this or am I thinking of another programme?
