Whist out with my walking group today we found the need to detour from our route due to a bull being in the middle of the ROW, so we took a slight detour across private land, at this point we decided to take lunch, myself not being hungry opted to wander over to the edge of the field where maybe a dozen or so rocks had been dragged as what i assume to be a field clearance ensamblage, upon one of these were several distinct and unmistakeable cup marks, with at least one having a very distinct ring without the cup.
I returned to the group to retrieve my sack containing my camera whereupon i found the group in discussion with the landowner that insisted we vacate the land forthwith leaving myself no opportunity to photograph the markings.
I briefly discussed the possibility of returning at a later date to photograph the RA but the landowner made it very clear i wasn't welcome there.
What i'm wondering is, is there any law i can call upon to aid access to document my find. ?
This is upon the Staffordshire / Derbyshire border, for your information.
