I am pleased to see you managed to find the stone that was in the news a few years ago. However, this stone just doesn't look right to me. If it is oolitic limestone like the Rollrights and the Longstone, then I'd expect far greater evidence of weathering. It looks fairly new.


A fair comment given that it is set in concrete. I realised when I first made this post I was walking into a controversy, however, as I had been in the area a couple weeks earlier it fired up my imagination which is why (with help of friend) we tracked it down. At least we know it exists.
