Interesting prehistoric sites near Durham City

Hey!

I've recently moved to Durham city from Dorset and am finding my knowledge of northern prehistoric archaeology to be limited.

Scarily enough, since my archaeology degree was completed I'm really missing learning about new sites and places.
Also as I am considering studying at the university in the near future, I thought I should learn a bit about the area....however I'm a little stuck as all my usual methods seem to be a bit wishy washy or vauge.

Any suggestions of books or websites or info on individual sites would be really appreciated.

Will certainly give research updates and provide fieldwork notes for site visits! :)
