Stonehenge postholes at "A"
Oct 12, 2011, 13:53
You can find anything astronomically at Stonehenge if you look hard enough and this one may well be as much bollocks as the rest but it does involve a part of the monument that as far as I know has been totally ignored by the astro nuts .
Between the Heelstone and the Avenue there was a linear arrangemnent of four post holes excavated by Hawley and described as at "A" .There may be more to the west as that area has not been excavated .Two of the post holes were under the Avenue and therefore predating it . When the alignment is checked for declinations they turn out to be on the summer solstice sunset and winter solstice sunrise i.e. diametrically opposite the main alignments associated with the monument , could be interesting .
