Eskdale Prehistoric Trail
Sep 07, 2010, 19:29
Vicky and I are planning on doing this in October - has anyone done it and, if so, can you get round it easily in a day? There seems to be a waymarked trail around 9 sites which includes Loupin Stanes and Girdle Stanes but we have other sites we also want to include during the weekend.
We will stay in Langholm and have 2 days worth of stone bothering to cover.

Cheers

You should manage to get round the Eskdale valley sites in a single day, though I think they have included a couple of sites over at Meggat. I've only visited the Girdle and Loupin Stanes but the other sites on the trail are close by, so not too much walking or driving.

Enjoy your visit tae the Muckle Toon!
