Garreg Las Circles - Gladman?
Sep 03, 2010, 20:03
Hi Mr G (or anyone else) - do you know anything about the site at Garreg Las (SN678179) marked on the OS as "Circles"? Can't get there myself easily, but just curious to know what these are (I know I could look on Coflein, but first hand accounts are much better).

I believe this relates to two hut circles... marked as such on my old 1:25K OL12. We were so blown away - in all senses of the term - by Tair Carn Uchaf that we descended as late as we could.. so no time this time around. Probably go back for Tair Carn Isaf, though.

Makes sense - I wonder if the map revision has lost the word "Hut" which would have been on the km quadrant above. Given up on Y Mynydd Du for tomorrow, bus timetables are not promising. Perhaps Garn Felen/Carn y Bugail instead. Worth a look, from your Boxing Day pics.

If you can get to Trefil by bus, well worth a look. And of course Garn Fawr is just up on the right hand of the valley.

Pay our respects to the Wellington crew if you make it....blokes like that are the reason muppets like us are free to march around the hills today.
