As per my edit, *was* it the place mentioned in Gawain & the Green Knight? G x Surely it must have been (see last week, re Dozmary). This is factual history stuff, tha knows.

Kid Calamity wrote: That blue pool is a special place to me, as a girl I used to go out with took me there a few times. I ha to re-read this sentence twice - I was thinking, but you're not a girl! Anyway, agreed about the series. It is nice to have the enthusiasm - must admit I found last week's more interesting, but the Snowdonia section had me drooling.

The highlight for me was definitely the hidden chalk spring in the Lincolnshire Wolds ... I understand these Wolds are a continuation of the South Downs/Wiltshire & Berkshire Downs/Chilterns. (Not a complete secret though as the cloutie ribbons had found their way there). Ludd Church is breathtaking, I first learnt about it from the Simon Armitage programme about the poem "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" shown over a year ago.

Haha! No - what I meant is "was it the same place as featured in aforementioned Simon Armitage-presented programme?" I'm thinking it was. It looked amazing, whatever... :) G x

A great series. The presenters are genuine enthusiasts, which is so nice. The photography is quite breathtaking, too. That blue pool is a special place to me, as a girl I used to go out with took me there a few times.

Yes it was the same place Goff.....like buses as they say. The 'expert' mentioned there is always some fact somewhere when it comes to folklore....dare i mention Dozmary Pool and Arthur again, I seem to have upset some people!

I didn't notice you upsetting anyone! But you gotta watch it - you can't just come wading in here distorting much beloved myths with cold hard facts. Tsk! ;) G x

Ha ha ha! It's all this cross-dressing I've discovered, recently. I forget where I started.
