Ancient Irish Serpent Faith and St Patrick

Something for St Patrick's Day - he was said to have driven all the snakes out of Ireland though there is archaeological evidence that snakes never made it to Ireland after the Ice Age. It is almost certain that he was driving out the ancient serpent faith that existed in Ireland and which is represented in the artefacts and jewelry of the Celts.
