On that basis you wouldn't see very much at Avebury today if it wasn't for recent 'interference' many of the stones were only stuck back on the uprights last century by Kieller.
I love the whole area, it's why I live here today, but I've never been up it, don't seem right somehow to add to the crappy white tracks up the side. If you want a true insight into the whole Avebury bit, head to nearby Overton Down and the Grey Wethers, you can really catch the past...
