the archer is as much the bow as the stave itself - a machine cannot do this . . .

"I ... read somewhere that the exhumed skeletons of archers from this period have almost freakish, superhuman bone density in the shoulders and arms".

fact or folklore - i'd really like to see some solid evidence for this?

isn't there something about 'Peter the rock / foundation ...' in the New Testament, or something?

Could be that the site's been taken down m6. Maybe Ishmael can help you out there with another one.

There's also a sarsen in the foundations at the back of Avebury church and several in the church foundations at Cliff Pypard. Seems like the phenomena is pretty wide spread - question is why :-)

'' 'The gods of the old are the demons of the new' is not always the case; certainly the old gods of the Bon religion in Tibet, and those of Hinduism and Shinto were all to find a venerable place within the Buddhist pantheon. Granted the monotheistic religions were/are not so accommodating but perhaps the older deities, or at least the layers of belief that inspired them, were not completely excluded.''

Zeus = Dieu, it is the same word (name)
