avebury solstice & ridgeway
Jun 24, 2001, 10:27
Did anyone else go? A truly magical morning. The mist came in and the sun was so bright aparently the first time since 1984 that the sun has been clear. one couple had their handfasting ceremony wich was very special for everyone. no trouble at all either. We then went on the next day for a two day ridgeway walk from uffington hill to avebury. The best time ever, gets a bit awkward round Ogbourne st george had to go on the roads for a bit. Be carefull though because some places say closed at one end but not the other-as we found out as some borgois shit at a shooting range decided it was his job to tell us "the path you are walking on is closed" , funny how they all got there then if your not allowed on it, oh sorry invite only into foot and mouth areas, I forgot. Anyway it was very tiring and i'm sunburned but oh my soul is high. Any ideas on how to make a backpack lighter, apart from keep eating it. I don't think you could manage on less than a ltr a day of water and we only saw one water place on the way.
