Thanks - the second image is particularly close. I'm surprised nobody has spotted the lozenge rebate in the two big stones. From this view the tops of the z-stones seem 'just right' supporting the view that they were correctly re-erected by Keiller. Looking down the line of stones, in the winter picture, and going up to the horizon there is what seems to be a slight notch. It could be an .jpg artefact.
At some Northumberland sites it would seem that making the horizon notches must have taken more effort than making the monument itself.
