There's quite a few rocks on Ilkley Moor with carvings on vertical faces... take a walk around Green Gates, which is pretty extraordinary considering most of the rest around the moor are on horizontal faces.

The rock art at Valcomonica in Italy is pretty mind blowing too. They span from Neolithic to Irom Age.
