69 years old this year, Alice is now a clean living survivor. He's touring later this year - and has been recording, in recent years, with members of his original band. I hope it's good. He's also quite active posting stories of the odd things going on in the world on Facebook.

I saw him in his less cool and edgy years, sadly. A couple of times: 1981-86 kinda time. I'm still undecided about whether I want to fork out a big wadge of cash to see him in a horrible oversized venue, this coming autumn. But, in his day... wow, he was banging out some incredible music.

I too hope the rumoured work he's doing with the original band (sans Glen unfortunately) does produce something of worth. Michael Bruce wrote some great tunes in that lineup and Dennis Dunaway's basslines, well let's just say they astound, confound and appall me all at the same time - appall only because just when I think I've worked one out, I notice some weird glissando swoop or octave jump that I hadn't picked up on and realise I'll have to work it all out again using a different location on the fretboard. I'm about halfway through Halo of Flies and keep coming unstuck.
And yep, love that clip of Under My Wheels - any clips of the original lineup, along with early clips of Roxy, man, so early in the glam game, these guys must have looked like they came from another planet (baby). But that's what rock stars should be - alien, unworldly, transported!

Edit - and this;

Outta sight and outta place! We live in paltry times.....
