Richard Adams

Richard Adams has died at the age of 96.

Watership Down and Shardik are two of my favourite books ever, beautifully written with an eye on nature, both gentle and red in tooth and claw.

The Plague Dogs is a supremely heartbreaking read, to the point where I've only read it once compared to the dozen or so times I've read the others.

RIP.

I think the Girl on a Swing is amazing. A book that once I'd read it I have never forgotten. It haunts me still.

Indeed. Read it in my early teens - it was the book that made me resolve never to buy another cosmetic or household product that's been tested on animals again. Obviously with medicines it's a bit more complicated, but nonetheless..
