Yes, it is indeed a pity that the Powell/Filgate/Sturgis/Kishman lineup was so brief. I had the pleasure of seeing them live and it was one of the best Ash gigs I ever saw, despite having only one original member present. Check out 'Live In Geneva' for (living) proof: best ever 'Sometime World' on record.
