Just returned from Germany's leading "Hippie" Festival at Burg Herzberg and had a wonderful time.
Hawkwind played a good gig - not brilliant, they'll need another keyboard player for that - or a mixer who pushing Blake's knobs toward zero.
Several legends around featuring buskers Klaus der Geiger and old Bernd Witthüser from Witthüser & Westrup - loved to see the old fellow even though he seemed to have smoked away most of his lyrics memory... Klaus on the other hand is a surviving revolution preacher in perfect Black Sheep style telling everybody what to do with politicians, bankers and their kind: "Hooray, and up she rises..."
Brilliant alternative stage sets feat. Grateful Dead tributes, stoner rock from Daturah, swiss psychedelic rock kids Ginger.
Let's not talk about Nektar, Chapman, Jeff Beck and consorts on the main stage - just boring stuff. They could definitively use someone more original and musically rewarding. A gig for Julian?
