Quite the opposite round Southampton, Diamondhead played support to AC/DC at Bon Scotts last gig and were the dogs nads, Def Leppard played with Sammy Hagar in Portsmouth earlier and were OK, played with Magnum in Southampton and were dire, well out of their depth on a big stage, especially as Magnum put on a blinding show

IIRC both Leppard & Diamondhead went glam about the same time, but Leppard did it at Reading 80 and everyone started hating them, by then Joe Elliot had the States and world domination in his sights

Mind you I really rated Saxon & Tygers Of Pan Tang so my opinion is not really that valid, I was 17 so I think I can be excused

Mind you non of them could hold a candle to early Maiden who were head & shoulders above any other NWOBHM band live.
