The one thing (Of the show) that was a constant and, for me, all the vindication of the form that one might want, was the desire to be a good performer and give the fans a good gig. It might seem a somewhat homely proposition and, in some way, a tad incongruous with the supposed epic pretentions and scale of the big bands, but I think, if that core sensibility remains, then....you know, it's good, it's fun. It rocks. It entertains.
