Cope can be a real prat at times. There are plenty of Archaeologists that have no time for him, and dismiss him as a publishing darling. But that does not mean there are people who don't worship him who kick about here.

There are also plenty of archeologists/historians/folk lore experts who highly regard his work, and quite rightly so. As for those who don't, it is more often a case of academic and professional jealousy of the so-called sanctity re. their status. Also, I haven't noticed any particular 'worshipers' at HH, just people who come here through a shared interest in and liking of his art, and therefore have a general affinity in other areas. Like attracts Like. Usually.

Do you really think people on here get their political views from Julian Cope?

I don't know what Copeys political views are; I would presume he cares about the environment, but really I don't know.

My experience has been that this board has a few people on it that cannot get past their own opinions when it comes to fair discussion.

But some folks go wading in hurling grenades sure to spark anger... and it's dishonest to say that the reactions weren't expected.
