I think I'm on fairly safe ground when I say that folk on here hold Nick Griffin's views and 'politics' to be despicable and abhorrent. But it has crossed my mind of late that, whilst I have no doubt that he fundamentally believes his views to be correct, I wonder if there's a part of him that embraced extreme right politics so readily and posited himself as the face of the BNP because deep down he knows that he would be extremely unlikely to succeed in mainstream politics. His public performances indicate that he struggles to hold his own in debate and just hasn't got what it takes and so the only path open to him his an extremist one which allows for such deficiencies.
In other words, as well as being a nasty cunt, was/is Nick Griffin simply too rubbish to make any impact in politics anywhere else?
I'm beginning to think that's played a part in things.
