Very well put. I was thankfully brought up to stay well away from gangs of marching men with drums and flags but the eternal saving grace of the left is that it starts from a compassionate position.

Sadly that compassion often mutates into dogma-derived divine right to tell people how they might live their lives (often with menaces).

So it is totally inevitable that the compassionate left (just like the uncompassionate right) has the exact same tendancy of allowing mosters to run wild and to end up neck deep in the blood of ordinary men and women.

A cruel irony but also very human and why I tend to feel that the passive resistance argument is more compelling than any number of street fighting men and broken shop windows.
