This has been in circulation since last Saturday when it was broadcast on Radio 4; missed it on the day but have listened online and thoroughly enjoyed it ... Sandi Toksvig is a bit of a good egg, she managed to board the 49 bus without saying anything too negative about Swindon's somewhat underwhelming bus station. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00tdznv/Excess_Baggage_Bus_trip/

I enjoyed listening to this a lot. There is something very satisfying about a good radio documentary.

Rode on this bus for the first time last Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed the different perspective it gives you from the upper deck. Also just being able to look around at the countryside as we went along rather than concentrating on driving made even more enjoyable. Thanks for posting the link, I will listen to it when I get a quiet half hour :o)

Scubi, well done for doing the bus journey on Saturday - I would have found it daunting to then have to get a train after catching the last bus back from Avebury. On the early morning bus though, it is one of my great pleasures to see the downs open out after the bus climbs the hill out of Wroughton. If there happens to be mist drifting around, even better. Here's to the Trans-Wilts Express aka the number 49. Definitely worth a ride. tjj
