Enough is enough: abuse - a warning
Jan 07, 2008, 10:33
For some time now, certain discussions on the forum have moved beyond the realms of reasonable debate and have degenerated into a series of tit-for-tat personal attacks, usually between the same few people.

In TMA Eds' opinion, on a number of occasions the attacks have bordered on the libellous. More importantly, these negative exchanges are seriously undermining this forum as a place for discussing megalithic sites and issues, and damaging the site as a whole. We have written confirmation that several existing contributors as well as many casual visitors are being chased away by some the aggressive and negative posting in these discussions.

We do not want to excessively censor this forum, discount anyone's opinions or deny the importance of particular issues. But we have reluctantly decided that, in order to maintain the function and growth of this site and to come back into line with its original remit, we will be monitoring the forum closely.

Any personal attacks, name-calling, unnecessarily aggressive comments, unfounded or unreasonable accusations, or general unnecessary vitriol will result in the poster's account being suspended.

We are very sad that we find it necessary to 'police' the forum in this way but feel we can no longer tolerate this kind of behaviour.

Regards
TMA Ed
